Tamara O’Callaghan (née O’Driscoll) is the Managing Director of SAVVY Sports and has an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from UCD.
She started her career in Sports PR and Sponsorship in London where she graduated to manage high profile accounts including The FA, BBC Sport, Barclaycard and AXA Insurance.Following this she went to Manchester working alongside Manchester United and Everton football clubs.
She then returned to Ireland to take up the post of CEO of Cycling Ireland, the national governing body for cycling before moving to Switzerland with her husband where she secured the role as Account Manager of the International Olympic Committee based at the IOC Headquarters in Lausanne.
While balancing life as a full time mother of four young children and Managing Director of the company, Tamara led the SAVVY Sports Management team as a retained communications consultant to the Government of Azerbaijan, offering strategic advise on the inaugural European Games which took place in BAKU in 2015. She is also Event Director for Ireland’s largest mass participation relay The Staff Relay Series which attracts over 8000 people per night and is currently being rolled out around Ireland. Previous clients have also included World Olympians Association (WOA), IMG Sports Management and various Irish Charities.
She is a qualified football and cycling coach, a keen recreational runner and knows more about her beloved Liverpool FC than Galway GAA much to her husband’s disgust!She lives in Galway with her husband Pierce and their three daughters Savanagh (02.03.08), Taillte (13.10.09) and Cuisle (30.10.11). and son Cumhall (17.11.14)
